2013 95th Evac Reunion

Its time to think about our next reunion location selected by our veterans at the Washington DC reunion in 2011. This letter is to extend an invitation to attend the San Diego, California 95th Evacuation Hospital Associations 10th REUNION Thursday May 16, 2013 – Sunday May 19, 2013.

This letter contains information about event registration, FEE Form and Hospitality Preference. This letter and/or e-mail is sent to the LAST known address we have for you. In order to reduce costs, when possible, the e-mail address was used. Please check with your friends and others who might wish to attend to see if they got this.

Even if you are not attending please provide me with the best way to contact you. Utilize the 95th EVAC website link http://www.95thevac.com and the 95th Evac e-mail address mickthec@hotmail.com to update your information. The 95th website will be updated late this year to reflect the latest Reunion information. In keeping with the location, many have asked that we allow ample time to go sightseeing on your own.

Here is what you NEED to KNOW.

The REUNION fee is $125.00. This covers two buffet dinners, the cost of the items for the hospitality suite which means drinks and associated items. As with ALL previous Reunions, the fee is NOT refundable and is required from EACH person who attends. We request that you send the fee check (NO CASH) or before April 1, 2013 or as early as possible along with your preference list. ALL unspent funds are turned over to the next host as a nest egg. If you are not attending the reunion, please consider a small donation to off set our reunion costs.

Hotel Reservations can be made Beginning May,17, 2012.

The hotel site is the Hilton Hotel San Diego Airport / Harbor Island Drive, San Diego California 92101. The direct line is 619-291-6700 or e-mail www.hiltonharborisland.com Mention the 95th Evac 2013 REUNION to obtain this rate. The hotel offers free shuttle service from San Diego Airport and free shuttle downtown only 3 miles away.

The room cost is $149.00 per night with a current occupancy sales tax of 12.565 %. As s with previous Reunions, you are responsible for making your own reservations and payment. Many of you indicated that you do intent to arrive early to take advantage of the sightseeing. The room rates allow you to check in 3-5 days early or stay after the reunion concludes. After April 1, 2013 the hotel price will increase to $299.00 per night, so make your reservations early.

For those having personal or rental vehicles, I have negotiated at daily parking fee of $8.00 per day from the $22.00 per day normal parking charged.

REUNION INFORMATION

Thursday, May 16, 2013 is a FREE DAY and if you are in town for the early arrivals traditional dinner. This one will be at a Sea Food & Steak Restaurant, which is about 1/4 mile west of hotel. Please indicate to us if you plan to arrive early, will attend the dinner and the number of people who will attend. The cost of the dinner is NOT included in the overall fee and very reasonable.

Friday, May 17th is the official check in. The day time is totally free and there will be an informal buffet dinner during during which you can exchange photos, show slides, movies and just plain renew old friendships. Light snacks and other goodies will be available in the hospitality suite until we run out.

Saturday, May 18th, The current `plan´ is for a bus tour around the various tourist sites of San Diego, the itinerary its currently being designed. More details later Saturday night is the main buffet dinner with presentations. If you want to make a presentation, the subject, must be made known along with how much time is needed when you submit your registration information. The primary, and only business, is the selection of the next Reunion location. Once the main event is over with you are welcomed to stay up as long as you want. Hospitality suite is open before and after dinner.

Sunday May 19th is checkout. There will be a short business meeting from 9:00-10:00am for those who are involved in the next reunion. You may extent your reservation for another 3 days at the same rate.
